SA’s most popular ULTRA Triathlon, the JHB Ultra will take place for the 2nd year at Cradle Moon Lakeside Reserve on December 1st.
The ULTRA SERIES is unique in that it allows the PRO’s, Top Age-groupers, Weekend Warriors, Youngsters and Novices to compete at one event – all starting together and racing on the same course at the same time. There is no exclusion in terms of prestige here as the ultra-brand signifies a truly South African race brand that is for one and all. Fun from start to finish and everyone gets to feel like a winner on the day with some exciting newly designed medals up for grabs to all finishers.
Team Relay Events:
The Ultra and Sprint Events are open to Individuals but also offer up a Corporate, School and Family team relay event whereby athletes can join up and split the distances in teams of 2 or 3 athletes. This makes for a fantastic day of team building and friendly competition as the various clubs, families, schools and corporate companies compete against themselves and fellow athletes in a fun filled day of swim bike and run exercise. Get your team entered now and challenge one another to show up and compete with a smile on your face. Athletes can then gather after for a braai and exchange the usual friendly war story banter
SA Long Distance Triathlon Championships 2019
This year will see the event double as the SA LD Triathlon Championships meaning besides the cool medals and trophies on offer for the Ultra Series, there will also be TSA medals awarded in each of the age categories for your overall top 3, both male and female. This will significantly up the prestige of this event as the top contenders vie to become the SA Champions in their respective age categories.
SA AquaBike Championships:
SA AQUABIKE CHAMPS will be incorporated into the Joburg ULTRA Triathlon on the 1st December. This now makes the Joburg Ultra the SA Long Distance Triathlon Championships event and the SA Aqua Bike Championships event. The race distances will be: 1.9km Swim & 90km Cycle. The event is open to the public, however only TSA registered Athletes will be selected for the SA Team.
The Joburg ULTRA is the last of the 4 races that make up the ULTRA SERIES so for some, it could be the last of the 4 medal haul that they are hoping to garner and hang around their necks once they cross the red carpet at the finish line.
Entries are capped and are already heading for a sell out, so do not delay – enter now and get your race entry confirmed well in advance.
We look forward to seeing you there!
