BSG TRI Series Update

The Most Famous Summer Triseries in Africa is Nearly Here!

It’s the sprint Series that had everyone talking last year, with 3 events sold out! It’s on its way once again and this time with a fresh new focus!

The BSG Triseries

BSG has been actively involved with the sport of triathlon through sponsoring the well-known BSG Energade Triseries for the past four years. During this time BSG has invested significantly in the growth of the sport with participation in the Triseries increasing by 44% (3,952 race participants in 2007 to 5,690 race participants in 2011). BSG believes that there is still significant potential to be unlocked through this wonderful sporting platform and is delighted to announce full ownership rights from 2012 for the Triseries: it’s officially now known as “The BSG Triseries”

Greg Reis, CEO of BSG, says, “This change in ownership ushers in a new era, which will build on the great foundation laid by Energade over their 15 year history with the Triseries. BSG aims to accelerate both the growth of and the participation in the sport of triathlon. Our vision for the Triseries remains constant – making healthy outdoor living fun for all members of the family and addressing our country’s dire need to support the education of our nation’s children”.

BSG’s Involvement

BSG is passionate about being a proactive force for positive change, making a in everything they do. As an IT professional services company, BSG partners with clients to unlock their potential and accelerate their performance through consulting services and software development.

“We’re really excited about the potential that remains untapped. BSG will continue to invest to achieve this vision – to really use the Triseries as a platform to create positive change in lives of everyone who is touched by this event in some way,” says Reis. “BSG will continue to apply our passion for positive change with the Triseries.” Investments include professional event management; improved online entry processes; regular athlete communications, utilising social media; and overall race-day format enhancements to ensure enjoyable and safe racing for all involved. It really is a race that is accessible, do-able and fun, especially as a welcome mat for first-time triathletes.

Be an Education Hero!

To make a real difference, BSG believes that investment in education is vital for the future of South Africa. BSG continues to partner with the LEAP Science and Maths School who aim to transform educationally disadvantaged communities in South Africa through mathematics and science-focused education initiatives. At this year’s Triseries all race participants automatically become “Education Heroes” by donating R10 of their entry fee towards LEAP, helping us reach a target of R 1 million in 2012. Participants can also raise additional funds for LEAP by requesting their network of friends, colleagues and family make a pledge through the BSG ‘MyPledge’ initiative on their behalf. In this way the BSG Multisport community can make a significant contribution towards building a new school for LEAP.
